Running Camps from 2:09 Events

Taking place in mid-March each year and with 200 participants of all abilities over the two available weeks, it has become a must on the training camp circuit.

How it started

I started the camps in 1984 with Ian Thompson, Commonwealth and European Champion, and in 1985, Hugh Jones, London Marathon winner. After the first two year’s I took over the camps myself, and since then the camps have grown more and more in stature, celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2024.

Run like a pro, with the pros

To add to the coaching expertise on the camp, in addition to myself, the camp includes Olympic Marathon 6th place finisher and the UK’s third fastest female of all time with 2:23, Mara Yamauchi, and also, sports physio’s, Yoga, Pilates, and Strength & Conditioning experts, who offer one-to-one sessions, roups sessions and evening seminars.

Training Camp, Algarve

The goal of the camp is to help you develop as a runner. It doesn't matter whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned veteran, we can help you. The camp programme is there to offer a structure to the week. On most days there are two daily training sessions: an easy early morning run and a quality session in the late afternoon.
